On behalf of the Organising Committee for the 8th Asian Regional Congress of the International Labour and Employment Relations Association I would like to welcome you to our website and invite you to attend and participate in the forthcoming Congress.

The theme of the Congress is “Work and Employment in the Asian Century.”

The program will be organised around four track themes:

1. The changing contours of employment relations and labour market regulation.
2. Human Resource management – trends and challenges.
3. The future of worker voice and representation, and
4. Globalisation, corporate social responsibility and decent work.

The Congress is to be held in Melbourne from 9-12 April 2013. It will be Autumn (Fall) and many consider that Melbourne is at its best at that time.

The Congress is at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, a modern facility located within walking distance of the Central Business District and close to a range of accommodation possibilities, ranging from budget accommodation to 5 star hotels. It is well served by public transport and has ample parking.

For those with the time and inclination tourist opportunities abound and these can be arranged through the website.
